Ted Rutledge
Ted was diagnosed with Keratoconus while in high school. His corneas became more and thinned over time. Fortunately he was able to manage his symptoms well into his 50s. At that point, his right eye became so blurry that a transplant was the only option.
Ted received a cornea transplant in his right eye in July 2015. While his cornea is still healing, his vision in that eye has drastically improved.
“When I say thanks to the donor who made my transplant possible, I’m not referring simply to a gift of human tissue. I’m thankful for a restored window on the wonders of life.”
