Renee Marez-Korn

Doctors told Renee Marez-Korn that she would need a glass eye after sustaining an injury to her right eye at the age of 15. She instead received a donated sclera, the white part of the eye, to reconstruct her eye nearly 25 years after the injury. Even though she has had to re-teach herself certain skills such as walking up stairs and using a camera, she says it was all worth it. “The photo project was neat because it gave me the opportunity to photograph again,” said Marez-Korn.
