Kathryn
Kathryn suffered from Fuch’s dystrophy for about 15 years. She underwent surgery for her right cornea in August 2011, and her left cornea two months later.Kathryn loves to hike, and it was during a family hiking trip when she and her family realized just how poor her vision was. She was forced to hold her child’s hand after she continued to trip and fall on the trail. She also admits that before her surgery, she often struggled to distinguish her children during a sporting event. She couldn’t follow a hockey puck, lacrosse ball or baseball during a game. “I am now able to do everything I need and love to do! I am very thankful to the donors and their families and feel blessed to have undergone my corneal transplants which have improved every aspect of my daily life!”
