In 1975, when George was 20 years old, he was diagnosed with Keratoconus. He received a cornea transplant in his right eye and suspects he will eventually also have surgery on his left eye. George is still working on balancing his vision as he got used to using only one eye to see.
“Sometimes I have to refocus, lean back and retrain my mind to use it.” George recently relocated to Arizona. The climate in Arizona is actually more humid than Colorado, which helps with the dryness and itchiness caused by Keratoconus. “I am thankful I can see to watch out for the snakes and scorpions here!”
