Athena Spotted Bear
She suffered from keratoconus in both eyes for nearly six years before having surgery in one eye in August 2010 and on the other eye in August 2011. Athena Spotted Bear still wears glasses and still has some of the stitches in her eyes but can now see "perfectly" with her glasses. "It’s wonderful. The details really come out." Athena enjoys reading, golfing and riding her horses in the mountains. With her restored sight, she is also able to observe her family members participating in the activities they love.
