Arlene Mattis

Arlene Mattis was diagnosed with Fuch’s dystrophy at a young age but didn’t suffer the effects until she was in her 60s. In 2007 she went through several surgeries over a period of seven months to correct both eyes. Even though her vision was failing her, Arlene continued to do all her normal activities, but they are much more enjoyable now. “It is really amazing to think what surgeons can do and that people give of themselves so we can see. Everyday I think of that.”
